The RoboCup 2023 Team

The team

Established in 2009, the RoboEireann team is collaborative effort between students, researchers, and faculty in the Department of Electronic Engineering, the Department of Computer Science, and the Hamilton Institute at Maynooth University.

Much of the software development has been done by our student members. Undergraduate students normally first join the team on an extra-curricular basis in year 2 or 3 of their studies and may optionally select a final year project/dissertation on a topic related to the team. Graduate members usually participate in the team over a number of years and contribute experience and continuity within the team. All our students develop important collaboration, teamwork, large scale software development, and research skills through their involvement in the team. Projects are guided by our research interests and practical needs of the system.
